Little girls room

This past labor day weekend. I decided it was time to get our little girls room D-O-N-E!
We have had all the wood for the past year just sitting in the garage.
So it was not going to cost us anything.
I had already ripped the floor boards out, and painted the walls pink.
However I thought about changing it to green with yellow and pink.
Now that I got my little girl into Minnie Mouse...I thought a Minnie mouse theme would be PERFECT
(she is not girly at all)
So I am sure this will not last past the age 5!

Before:

As a little girl I always admired my sisters room, she had a "window seat", So this window seat was a must have. My kids LOVE looking out the window to see what friends are playing at the park. Or just to look. However this "project" happen to have very little wall space to work with, this wall made NO sense. Why not make it have potential and usable space.
Shelves came to mind...Since Sam is not girly, Russ figured this is going to be a great idea for her trophies!
 After:

In our old house, I had to have a window seat as well.......Its just a "girl thing"
... so this project has been in my head for over 5 years...However it just did not work out in our old home with the additional shelving.
I added some ribbon bows to her name, I wanted it to look a little like Minnie Mouse.
If you know ME, then you know SAMMIE, she is JUST like me.. and WE are Beautiful in our own way... When I found this saying "Be your Own kind of Beautiful"
(I have always lived by this saying.)
Have your own look, be YOU and not what other people want you to be.
I thought of Sam, she is her very own kind of beautiful. and I love that so much about her. She is something else!
Thankfully Ikea had this CUTE cover, reminds me so much of Minnie Mouse!
I love the turn out of her room, the floor boards, the crown mouldings, and her door trim. It turned out absolutely Beautiful!
I am very, very happy with the out come!

M-Bathroom Window Treatment

We have lived in our home now for 3 years.
I am sure our Neighbors have seen our naked bodies.
My husband insisted I don't put anything up because the reasoning we got block windows is so they can't see us.
It has bothered me for a LONG time now and I decided I'm going to get naked in MY bathroom and not have worries.
So I finally did something about it..
I made CURTAINS.
Before:

And with the help of my Handy Husband,
I had him make me a shelf for my cornice
After:

Beautiful?!

Little Girls Bathroom

This past week I have been busy working on my little girls bathroom.
It has been a work in process since we have moved in and I finally told myself it is to get DONE!
BEFORE:
Before I painted and put the crown moldings up it was just a "standard, plain white" bathroom
I then Painted it a light pink...My husband put the moldings up for me.

DURING:
I painted 8" stripes, and I LOVE the look...

AFTER:
I took some time out of my day to get acquainted with the saw.
I learned a few cuts, and I finished off the moldings, and floor boards,
I added a cute little frame around the mirror,
I LOVE IT!
TO BE CONTINUED......

Sitting Room...

I do know that I did this ALL wrong...and for now on I will take a BEFORE and AFTER picture...
We first started by putting in some moldings....bigger base boards and also we cased in the windows.
I wanted to lighten this room up so I decided to go with a white rug.. and some light curtains.
I can NEVER find any curtains that I LOVE so my mother in law so kindly made some for me. I can not believe how different this room looks from before. I chose to dress it up a little by putting a light rug in that I purchased at "Home Depot"  just these few changes that I made, not only brightened the room, but also made it look bigger!
And with the help of my husband we also decided to take my Ugly pillows and give them a BRAND new look... He made the long pillows and I made the bigger square pillows....
